Charge
To effectively manage all issues relating to state and local taxes, subject to approval through normal channels, by:
- Monitoring the activities of the Comptroller’s office and, when appropriate, other relevant agencies;
- Responding to regulatory and tax policy developments of, including initiating proposals to, the Comptroller’s office and any other entity which falls within the relevant subject area and affects the chemical industry in Texas by direct communications, preparation of comments and testimony for rulemakings, and securing technical witnesses when appropriate;
- Responding to legislative developments either referred to the committee by staff or identified by the committee by advising staff as to the proposed position of TCC, preparing or assisting in the preparation of comments or testimony, and securing technical witnesses when requested;
- Preparing, or assisting in the preparation of, appropriate position statements or background documents for use by member companies or staff, including but not limited to assistance in the communications function; and
- Fulfilling other responsibilities delegated to the committee by the board or the Executive Committee, including participating in relevant projects for the revenue enhancement function.
