Texas Chemical Council and its member companies engage in practices which prepare chemical industry employees, local emergency personnel and the public for emergency situations.
These emergency management practices:
- encourage hazard assessment as a way to prevent incidents during the manufacture, transportation, utilization, and disposal of chemical products;
- ensure emergency contingency plans are fully developed and ready to be implemented;
- concentrate on timely and appropriate response, training — including drills, cooperation, and mutual aid; and
- address community concerns through planning, dialogue, and public involvement.
